Five Swine Flu Deaths in Alaska

There have been five Swine Flu Deaths in Alaska thus far. The last occurrences took the lives of two women on the same day, September 24, 2009.  According to the Anchorage Daily News, both women had pre-existing medical conditions. The swine flue is a scary and deadly disease and it's something that has caused great sensation in the media. Although it should not be taken lightly, let's remember that there are over 30,000 deaths in the United States that are caused by the seasonal flu.

Ways to help the prevention of Germs:

1. Wash your hands all the time, i.e. each time you sneeze, shake somone's hands, eat, or blow your nose.

2. Stay home if you are sick. Don't allow your children to attend school if they have any symptoms of the flu.

3. Drink lots of water and get enough rest each night.

4. Take vitamins or eat lots of foods with vitamin C

Good advice. Real estate professionals meet many people and their germs. Need to be very careful.

Sound advice. My wife teaches second grade and we are worried about all those parents who use her school as a baby sitting service and will bring their kids to school no matter what their physical condition.

Hi Vanna,

We have an outbreak here in central Texas too. My wife is a schoolteacher and her kids are dropping like flies. Surely the school should close down!  Oh well,  I'll just keep washing my hands and taking those vitamins.

Hi Roy, keep washing them hands.  =)  That's something that I find myself doing all the time now.

Dave, I know what you mean. I have teachers in my family and hear the same thing. But what can be done?

Steve, once it reaches a certain level (i'm not sure what level) I am sure the schools will close down.
