Anchorage Home Selling Tip #4.. Shovel the Walkway

Anchorage Home Selling Tip #4

Anchorage Real Estate

Home Selling Tip #4 is a BIG one. SHOVEL  THE WALKWAY. I know that sounds pretty elementary, but it's amazing how many homes on the MLS don't have shoveled walkways. Anchorage, Alaska can get some heavy snowfall and it's understandable that home sellers don't have the time to consistently shovel the snow off their walks before every potential buyer makes it to the house. But when the snow reaches potential home buyers' knees and they're getting an ab workout just from trudging through your driveway to get to the front door, that's probably not going to impress the buyers very much.

Remember the saying, The First Impression is the Most Important. As a home seller, dress your home to impress, starting from the outside. I know there's not much you can do in the winter in terms of exterior maintenance and landscaping, but keeping the walkways as clear as possible can be the start of a positive experience for your potential home buyers.

Keep in mind:

  • Some Home owners park their vehicles in the garage and go straight into their house, so the front walkway/patio area is neglected.
  •   Tending to the walkways/patio area will give buyers a positive experience going into your house.
